About Your Hand-painted, Handcrafted
Lampshades and Nightlights
Delano Designs Shades of Vermont logo

Each design is unique and hand-painted with indelible ink, creating a one of a kind lampshade to warm your room. The delicate cut and pierce work brings forth a new dimension, especially when lit. All shades are hand constructed and cut from special paper, then lined with sheer white translucent paper. They are fabricated with either a bulb clip top or washer top, which is used with harp and finial style lamps. Each is trimmed with cotton/rayon grosgrain ribbon and 100% rayon braid or velvet ribbon.

Nightlights come in a half round frame that attaches to its own conventional nightlight, with clip included. They, too, are trimmed with grosgrain and soutache and are finished with acrylic spray. Designs may be modified or simplified as necessary.

The lining is cut and glued onto the back of each completed arc

Clothespins and clips are used to secure the shade to the individual lamp wires during the gluing process

The seam sealer is then put in place to ensure a smooth and flat finish on the back of the shade

The trim is glued and fitted around the shade frame to complete the finished look. An acrylic spray is applied for a non-luster protective coat
